Meeting Minutes Nov 16

1. Wood Firing Protocol - come in 15minutes early.  Follow the firing schedule and record hourly progress on clip board. Do not move the pyrometer.
2. Potluck Dinner/Christmas Party after the last day of Xmas Sale - Linda's Ceramics I class is making all of the dinnerware and there will be a sign up sheet for food.  Feel free to bring serving pieces - all clay.  Linda is signing a banquet hall out.
2a. Secret Santa sign up as well - $10 maximum.

Wood Fire Day One!!

For the rest of the week Ceramics will be firing our anagama wood kiln.

Visiting Artist Kristin Kieffer


The Ceramic Department hosted internationally exhibited potter Kristin Kieffer for a two day workshop Nov 8-9th.  For more information on Kristin and her work see her website:  www.kiefferceramics.com

Meeting minutes November 2nd

1. Kristen Kieffer - volunteers
2.NCECA - head count, table, posters, etc.  Options, funding process.
3. Fundraising

1. Flight has been changed to 6:48pm in Erie, PA.  Mary will take care of round trip airport service.  
  SGA approved full amount for Kieffer - we can keep our fundraising money for NCECA.  Kristen M. and Krista S. will put posters.

Kevin, Luke, John G., and Alix have the to do list - Mary, Kristen, and Mark have nice bats for K. to use.  Gratia has clean ware boards.  Linda has a large rolling pin if needed.  

2. Table is back on!  Clay Club will have to provide half (about $350) plus 2 free passes.  
Voted for table:  unan. Yes 
Voted for Lab Tech to get other pass:  Unan.Yes
Poster options:  Do a Clay Club poster, postcards, etc.  Have two images - Dec 9th.

Funding - Understand that you pay for conference, hotel, flight up front and Clay Club will reimburse AS MUCH AS WE CAN based on fundraising and SGA powers that be - there is no way for us to guarantee amounts, but we are working as hard as possible to cover everything.

3. Fundraising - Possible chili sale, hot chocolate and cup

Christmas Sale - Set dates for Christmas Sale in Student Center - 3 Days - Tues, Wed, Thurs - or extend hours until 8 or 9pm.  Also, advertise locally, and at the Erie Clay Place.  Voted - overwhelming majority to extend to 7pm both days. Dec 7-8 WEd/Thursd.  Sign up sheets will be up at the end of Nov, sign up for 2 shifts.  We are also going to make a specific shift for set up and take down.  Posters and Fliers for Xmas Sale - send images to Garrett before Thanksgiving.  Flier distribution - Kristen and Mark have the Mail room.  Kristen M. will also bring posters up to Erie Art Museum and Clay Place.  
Lee is donating a pot for the raffle.  Next meeting we will talk about pre-selling raffle tickets.
Ron Meyers pots.  Last clay club meeting of the year we will bring the finished pots in if any members want to buy them.

5. Wood Fire - Watch for sign up sheets - we all need to sign up for 1-2 shifts.  Last call to make work and have it bisqued - loading the 15th and 16th Nov
